On
the bright sunny day of October 5, 2003 the
college was well decorated with the colorful banners
and the cadets were as usual smartly dressed in their
walking out uniforms. By 10.00 a.m. every one was
seated in the assembly hall.
The
proceedings were started with the recitation from the
Holy Quran by a cadet, followed by the college anthem.
The Principal in his address highlighted the
achievements of the cadets both in curricular and
extra curricular activities. Their achievements in all
fields and degree of competitiveness not only in their
own board but also at other reputed institutions answered
the doubts that their standard is not what it shows on
paper due to the board from where they are competing.
The address of the Principal was followed by the
address of the Secretary General, in which he
highlighted the events of the association of the last
year, appreciated the achievements of the cadets,
thank all the Kohatians and the President of the
association to help and worked in many areas for the
betterment of the association. He finished his speech
with the announcement that the fresh elections for the
central committee would be held after the speeches.
Unfortunately, the President of the association could
not make to the reunion and he was represented by Mr.
Abdullah Shah of 1st entry. In his speech, Mr.
Abdullah Shah showed his satisfaction on the degree of
cordial and affectionate relations and the strong
brotherly bondage amongst the Kohatians and reassured
the Principal that the association will always work
for the betterment of CCK.
The
first session was ended with the National Anthem and a
dua for those Kohatians who have passed away.
Afterwards, Principal and cadets departed from the
assembly hall.

After
a break of 10 minutes, Kohatians gathered again to discuss the matter of
importance in the association. As announced by the Secretary General, he
started the proceedings by asking for fresh nominees for the posts of central
committee. It was noticed that the constitution, which was given to get the
association registered with the Provincial government, mentioned that the term
of office bearers would be for three years. The present central committee is
doing their term under two years duration. After a discussion, a resolution
was offered to finalize the duration of the term. The three year duration was
passed by an overwhelming majority and the elections were postponed till next
year. Therefore, for the year 2003-2004, the present central committee
wouldhold the office. After this issue was over, the meeting had usual
exchange of ideas as how to increase the activities, the funds and the
coordination amongst the chapters. Many Kohatians gave their views on
different problems. About Rs. 18000/- were collected as donations by the
Kohatians for the association and the General Secretary of Peshawarchapter
collected the money, and the general body meeting ended.

Then
the senior Kohatians gathered at conference hall in the office of the
Principal. Principal informed that the Governor has not agreed directly to the
increase of the seats of Board of Governors from 11 seats to 14 but suggested
that the three Kohatians could be elected for the existing seats under the
headings of Philanthropist, educationist, and a notable citizen. These seats
would be only for Kohatians from N.W.F.P. The already present seat of Kohatian
can be given to any Kohatian from any province. The Principal explained the
serious situation caused by the complete cessation of funds by the provincial
government of N.W.F.P and how other areas like federal government, army etc
are turning down the request of providing funds to the college. As a result of
which how imperative it has become to increase the fee structure. This in turn
gradually making this prestigious institution of the province to be out of
reach of a common man. A committee of nine Kohatians was formed to address
this problem at all levels with the government and to explore new avenues to
raise college funds.
The
committee comprises of
1.
Mr. Sahibzada Saeed.
2.
Mr. Khalid Gillani
3.
Mr. Iqbal Yunas
4.
Mr. Hameed Ullah Afridi
5.
Mr. Arshad Javed
6.
Mr. Ahmad Rasool Bangash
7.
Mr. Tariq Mahmood
8.
Mr. Ahsan Ghani
9.
Mr. Abdullah Shah
It
was also agreed that any one who can in some way help in this cause would be
welcomed to join this committee.
A
proposal was given that a desk for the association will also be formed in the
college. It would be looked after by a person provided by the college where
all the data will be collected. As every Kohatian can contact the college
easily, it is much better to send their contact addresses, suggestions,
inquires etc. to this desk from where all the chapters would be informed or
can retrieve their desired information.
